Lion (Panthera leo)
During the past month the group of Western pride females split apart for a few days. The collard female and her two cubs stayed around site 15 which is on the Western side and by the Western air strip. The rest of the females moved up North towards Manual gate side. They have reunited again later in the month and is back in the central Segkwa plains were they are feeding on an adult female Wildebeest. The Tembe male Lion is still hanging around with the Western pride females. It is a possibility that the young male Lion that is around the Eastern airstrip might be stretching his territory. The Welgevonden female Lion and her sub adult cubs are still around the Southern part of the Reserve. The Dinokeng male Lion has become very vocal these past few days making sure that all opponents know that he is the biggest male in the park.
